It's just that that sort of thing isn't something you talk about with your parents. And when you look like this, it's like I'm somehow talking to both of my parents at the same time, that only makes it worse.
[ Once upon a hot July night, a devilish plan was afoot. The stroke of midnight had long since past and it had been a while since Yuri had "gone to bed" back home, even making a display of saying good night to those she lived with, in her pajamas. She'd taken the time from then until now to prepare.
It wasn't every day that Yuri offered to help celebrate someone's birthday and that meant that she had to balance the scales somehow. There needed to be karma. Or something equally ridiculous. Regardless, she had made her way to the beach and managed to kidnap a huge starfish into one of those large beach buckets, filled with water and a bit of sand. She's put a lot of work into this, and she heads over to what she thinks is house 20 to give a little payback to Battler.
Unfortunately, it being dark and their houses looking roughly the same from the outside in the dark, she mistakes house 21 for her target and breaks into the room of a girl she doesn't know, quite unwittingly, after only being able to see a flash of red hair through the window. She sets the starfish in the bucket down and manages to break open the window, but is quickly outwitted by the room being in a much different layout than Battler's own and as she attempts to hit the ground, lands on the chair at the desk. Due to the unfortunate force applied to a wheeled seat, that sends her straight back toward the bed and on top of the exact wrong red head with a yelp.
Though to be fair, it's probably a better situation than if she had to break into Battler's room and had fallen-- still, at least she would've had an explanation for that. ]
Edited (she has an h in it...) 2012-07-20 09:50 (UTC)
[ So there's no way Ange wouldn't have woken up from all of that, even without the yelp it's enough noise in itself. And she's already on edge a little either way because of what Keiichi told her about how he thought someone was stalking him-- possibly even Bernkastel, that witch again - so the moment she wakes up because of the loud noise, she's immediately on guard.
That's why the moment she shoots up in bed and somewhat realises what's going on, even if the situation is still a little blurry, she quickly wiggles out from under the person and instead quickly hovers over them with a frown, putting her hands down on the bed so they're more or less caught inbetween those and can't run away quickly.. but.. then she realises it's a girl.
.. A not very dangerous looking girl.
Well, this looks.. awkward and inappropriate now. ]
[ Well, at least the starfish is outside, so it didn't get spilled all over the floor and is going to come and get them.
Yuri blinks up at Ange. Okay, she wasn't expecting to rather quickly end up on the bottom here, wow lady. Aggressive. Yuri looks to the side for a moment, then back up at Ange and holds up a hand, straight, in front of her face in an apologetic gesture. Her tone doesn't hold the same feeling as her hand should indicate though. ]
[ .. Okay, she's fairly sure this isn't the person stalking Keiichi. They sounded a whole lot more.. subtle from the way he was talking about it. So after a short sigh she seems to calm down a little more again, moving back so she's just sitting on the bed rather than hovering over Yuri. ]
I think you were the one in the chair's way. It's always standing there. [ Now she's suddenly a lot less caring about this whole situation with her deadpan tone.. ] Do you usually make a habit out of sneaking into people's bedrooms? Especially people you don't know?
[It's late at night. Everyone is sleeping by this time even the Kin'corans, even that girl Minato brought in. Or so it seems. Who knows if they are really sleeping, who knows if they aren't just feigning it. Just like he's doing. Keiichi lays in bed, covered with his blankets almost completely, as if the blankets could hide him from being noticed, as if they could protect him of anything, as his eyes peer at the darkness of his room outside of the blankets. Everything is silent. Too silent. Even the dog is asleep, that's no good, if he's asleep who will protect the house? What if someone sneaks in to hurt them? His windows are closed, firmly so, the only way for someone to sneak in would be by breaking the glass and he would hear that, right? He would hear the glass shattering. But only in his room. What about the others? What about Minato? What about Ange? Minato is strong, Ange is strong too but... She's his Ange. And what if the one who sneaks in is Bernkastel? What if she's really back? What if she's hiding among the Kin'corans or uses them to hurt Ange? His Ange.
Keiichi shifts under his blankets, not really noticing the scratching his nails are doing. No, no, no, he can't allow that to happen. He promised to protect her. He has to protect her. Not Ange, don't hurt Ange, don't take her away. He crawls off his bed, dragging the blankets with him, wrapped around him as he exits the room. Let them sneak in, it's fine, there's nothing in his room for them. He will go where his valuable things are. He stops in the hall, looking at the stairs. Minato could be in danger too, they could try to hurt him and take him away too. But Minato is at the second floor, right? That's harder to sneak in, and Minato is strong, right? He has to believe in it, if something happened he would be able to defend himself and then Keiichi would hear it and go to help, right? But Ange... He can't risk anything happening to her, he has to protect her, he promised it to her and her brother and her mother, he promised it to their future. He walks slowly and silently eventually sneaking in her room.
She's asleep, his beautiful angel and watching her sleep and breathe calmly makes him calm down a bit. She's safe, she's still there with him and she's safe. But he's not leaving, he will never leave her side, not when it's dangerous, who knows what those Kin'corans could do. Are they really villagers from another enclosure? What if they are Third Party cultists disguised? What if they made a pact with the Third Party and are waiting their chance? He can't allow that to happen, he can't, he must not. He will smash their heads open before they even touch one of his precious friends. For now, though, he just sits in Ange's room in the middle of the night and watches her sleep. By the time she wakes up, he will still be there, sitting covered with his blankets and staring at her without blinking.]
[ Ange's sleeping quite soundly, actually. She isn't really concerned with everything that's going on one way or another - not that she's actively pushing away the Kin'corans, but she isn't particularly wanting to make friends with them either-- but that's more just because she's antisocial in general rather than having something against them. After all, she speaks normally to the one Minato brought into the house and if another one says something to her she'll answer.. it's just that she sort of keeps some polite distance as she does with most people. But the presence of one in the house is the least of her concerns right now, really.. which is why she's sleeping there so peacefully and calmly, unlike how Keiichi is feeling.
And it's why she just sleeps normally until it's early in the morning when she slowly starts to wake up. Ange slowly stirs under her blanket, softly groaning as she stretches, slowly opening her eyes to the light..
.. Wait, there's something in her room. She shoots up in her bed, as if she's ready to tackle whatever it is, but then seconds later she notices it's just Keiichi sitting there. Even if it's a little strange to find him there, staring like that, she does calm down a lot at that. (And she bothers to (subtly) quickly pull up her blankets while she's sitting there so her bottom half is at least covered by them.) ]
Keiichi? Seriously, you gave me a scare.. [ she sighs, rubbing her eyes as she's still waking up. ] .. Is something wrong?
[Is it morning already? He vaguely notices the increase of light, too focused on her and her breathing to really notice anything else. Repeating to himself that she's safe and fine, still breathing, constantly breathing, sleeping peaceful and without pain or nightmares. She's fine. His Ange is fine and the house is still silent. Minato is fine as well. The girl Minato brought hasn't gone out of her room. Everything is fine. Everyone is safe. He only realizes that it's morning when she starts to stir, the night is gone, it's time for a new day. They made it, tonight was safe again, at least at home, who knows what could have happened outside. Outside is still dangerous, but he will worry about that later.
He keeps watching her as she stirs and starts to wake up, he doesn't even flinch when she suddenly shoots up in her bed, it just makes him smile in relief. She's fine and lively and energetic. Nothing bad happened tonight, she's safe.]
Good morning... I just wanted to make sure you were sleeping well.
[Sit there and keep watch, protecting her like he promised, even if she hasn't needed him protecting her this night. But the day is just starting and there will be another night soon.]
[ His reason actually makes it less weird, because it's just such a.. well, a Keiichi thing to do. Utterly ridiculous yet sweet in its own way since she doesn't quite realise the paranoia that originally was lying behind it. Instead she shakes her head lightly in an 'oh you' sort of way. ]
How long were you even sitting there? I'm almost surprised you didn't just crawl right into the bed. [ It's a deadpan joke. ... Probably. ] But.. yeah, good morning to you too.
If you're going to reply to whoever left that riddle on the journals, be aware that she is convinced that you're dead. Convinced and angry enough about it to get pretty creative regarding how to punish liars who say that you're alive.
[Keiichi's tone is quite the "I'm tired of this shit" tone, even if he isn't worried about death threats by now he still doesn't appreciate them. Specially when he's being called a liar on top of that.]
[ ... What.. well, that narrows the amount of people it could be down even more. Someone who's angry about her death, and it's a woman or a girl? As if that many people would care, even back home-- maybe Battler, he'd sure yell death threats he doesn't quite fully mean over that too, but if it's a girl.. ]
I'll deal with it. [ Well, she'll figure that out as she talks to this "she". But first she has to take care of that tone of his, since it's indirectly her fault. ]
.. Sorry though, Keiichi. You know what most people I know back home are like. If she thinks I'm dead, then she's probably from an earlier point in time than I was before I ended up here in Luceti.
It's not your fault, Ange. Neither it's theirs. I would do the same if I was from another life and someone assured me that the friends I had seen dying were alive.
It's the Malnosso's fault, with all they can do they could give everyone a briefing before dumping them here. If anything what bothers me the most is the part of calling me a liar when i said I've vowed to protect you with all I've got.
[Except that wasn't really the part she was accusing him about but... He's not mature enough to make the difference. His word was doubted about something more important than his own life, it was as if they doubted his love for Ange. Being annoyed and tired of that crap was the least he could do.]
Is it true, though? Or was that just another Ange from a previous world?
[Even if the core is the same, even if the soul is the same. He wants the answer.]
[ From what he's saying she's connecting the dots too that he's sort of misunderstanding the whole liar thing, since if that person believes she's dead then she's sure she just called Keiichi a liar for saying she's alive.. but she doesn't pay much attention to it since her attention is drawn entirely to the last part.
Another Ange.. or her..? Which was it? It was her, of course, she remembers it clearly. But on the other hand, she also remembers travelling to Rokkenjima, and she remembers the time she travelled but went to see that witch instead.. aren't all of them her yet not? ]
.. Yeah, it's true. [ The easiest way to put it is just saying it's her though. ] When we talked about Bernkastel before, I said that she got me before back home too, right? She ripped me to pieces until my consciousness was tranferred to another "me".

kouki; may 28th
Somehow I'm not sure if a 'freak out' would even be the same for you as for other people..
[ okay, that's partially being a hypocrite since Ange herself is very lineface, but Kouki did usually seem like a pretty calm person. ]
kouki; may 28th
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I wonder what exactly is so different about you now compared to usually then though.
