I couldn't have put it better myself. Yeah, the guys in our family tend to have some inheriditary stupidity gene.

Battler onii-chan and dad actually did get into a fight from the moment I was born. And ever since then, they've practically done exactly what you described.. except verbally most of the time, I guess.

No, I mean being stupid and fighting stupidly for that long. Impressively stubborn, I guess.

'Impressively stubborn' is just a family trait. Especially in the guys, hence why I don't think either of them would have given up even if they were still alive.

"Given up"? With the whole witch situation?

Given up on their little argument, I mean. When I was a little girl, I was always hoping they would just make up so Battler onii-chan could come and live with the rest of us.

Oh. [ She didn't even think of that as something that needed to be given up on. Arguing is fun sometimes. The witch thing seemed like the main thing Battler needed to not give up on to her. ] Why don't you live with him now then?

He's living with mom nextdoor because I was already living here with my boyfriend before they arrived. [ she's shrugging it off as casually as possible, hoping she won't ask more about that embarassing fact.. ]

[ She's not going to ask how far they've gone in their relationship. That could definitely lead back to sex, and she's avoiding sex as a conversation topic because that's definitely not what happened and that part of the convo is over!! ]

It'd be kind of weird to live with your family in the same house as your boyfriend.

[ NEVER TALKING ABOUT SEX OKAY. Sex is embarassing and should be left out of conversations as is happening now. ]

Exactly. And since I've been staying here since before they showed up, I'm already too used to living with just these people.

I guess getting a bigger house is out of the question.

It isn't too bad like this, is it? [ she shrugs. ] They're still living right next door to this house, after all. I can go and see them whenever.

Does Battler do silly things like try to shoot you paper airplane notes from window to window?

[ Somehow she can see him being dorky enough to do something like that. ]

He hasn't done that.. yet. [ which means she wouldn't put it past him either, honestly. ]

He did lean out of the window and whisper 'psst, Ange, psst' until I would pay attention to him before though.

[ As an older siblings, she knows how it is. :| Even if hers have all been dead for a while. ]

That definitely, without a doubt, seems like him.

So, what are you planning on doing now? Recapturing that starfish of yours and trying to pull off your little prank all the same?

Maybe I'll try to find it when it gets light out. IT's too dark to try to find a darkly-colored starfish like that, I'm more likely to accidentally step on it.

So you're just going to give up for now then? [ and yet she's still hanging around in ange's room in the middle of the night, huh.. what won't her boyfriend think.. ]

More like I'm trusting the tides of destiny to take that 20-legged spiny starfish thing to whoever the funniest person would be.
