[ Ange never really feels the need to broadcast anything over the journals, as anti-social as she is and all. But today she's perhaps feeling a bit more bored or a bit more annoyed than usual, probably because of some recent arrivals. So she has actually taken the effort to speak up for once now, her voice as flat and deadpan as it always is. ]

So, people here.. how much longer are you planning on wasting your time here? Don't get me wrong, it's not like I have found any way out either, but I doubt spending our time here with parties and all sorts of similar ridiculous things is going to help us in any way. Don't tell me all of you have grown so used to this place that you're just complacent with the situation as it is now.

[ Sorry, Luceti, she's a bit of a party pooper indeed. What is having fun. ]

I definitely have no plans of sticking around here if I'd be given the choice. I have better things to do than wasting my time around here.. unlike some other people, apparently. [ a very slight sigh. ]

So I guess in the end it comes down to this.. do any of you honestly want to stick around in this bothersome place and party your days away? I suppose I'm actually a little genuinely curious.

[ It looks like she's going to cut it off right there and then, but she seems to think of something as she starts a filter instead. ]

On a different note.. if anyone has advice for avoiding certain people, I'd like to hear it.

You already know my opinion on that question. Although, haven't you considered going to the parties a way to get to know more people a little more? It wouldn't hurt to gain more allies around here, right?

If you talk to more people, then you'll realize that some people have certain things in common with you. That's how usual friendships are forged in the first place. [Pausing.] Oh, that? Well, it's just a little nickname, I guess.

Didn't I already tell you that I don't need friends? Especially not in this place where it's all temporary. Temporary allies are one thing, but friends.. [ she narrows her eyes a little. ] And please cut it out with that nickname.

This part might be a bit difficult to explain someone who doesn't know much about my world, so bear with me. I guess the easiest analogy would be chess. Bernkastel, as a witch, is playing chess, but she can't influence what happens with the other person's pieces on the chessboard, right? That's why she needs her own pieces to do that in her place and according to her orders. What a piece is to a chess player is what Furudo Erika is to Bernkastel.

Idiot girl... You're completely missing the point. Just because some of us might leave tommorrow or even today doesn't mean that friendship can be broken that easily. It doesn't matter how far the distance between homes, countries, worlds... Whatever. Friends will still friends, no matter what. [He'll just shrug a little. My world is pretty bizarre, so the analogy fits it perfectly. Sure, it's a cruel way to describe things, but it's the only accurate way as well. It's just the way things are. And.. [ She has to pause a moment at that, since.. well. She's an used up piece too, after all. ] ... When a piece doesn't have any use left, it's discarded. Thrown away. [ Another hesitant pause, but then she adds- ] Ripped apart.

... [Feeling a moralfag speech coming on.] You... You've been hurt a lot by others in the past, haven't you? Getting hurt and gritting yourself teeth through dirt and mud is a part of life. Pain is something that's unavoidable. But it's ridlicious to shut your heart away from others when they want to reach out their helping hand to you. In the end... You're only hurting yourself and missing out on a lot of fantastic opportunities. I'll admit that humans can be cruel and selfish, but there's plenty of good things about us as well.

Of course someone as optimistic as you would believe there is always a happy end, but that's just in stories, right? In the real world that sort of happy end doesn't come that easy. No.. from the very beginning I had my chance at a happy ending smashed.

In other words.. It doesn't exist for me anymore, no matter how much you're willing to try for another person's sake.

... Even if you've given up on the chance for one and even on yourself, I won't be giving up on either sides. Understand?

Forgive me for saying this, but isn't it generally sort of pointless to go on even after the person for whose sake it is has already given up long ago? I would say 'there's no need to go through the trouble for my sake', but we already went over that point and neither of us is going to change our mind on that one, at least.

... [Sorry, Ange. But you're talking to an iron wall here.] That's right... Even if you think it's already too late, I say that it's never too late for you. We might have different perspectives when it comes to certain things, but that doesn't mean we can't get along.

... [And on another subject...] Um... I'll see what I can do for this Furudo Erika girl, too. She should be fully aware of what's going on around her, right?

[ She realises that much. Maybe that's why she's just quiet for a moment instead of persuing the subject - she knows they won't change their mind. (And that he's right, this is rather close to getting along, right?) ]

She should understand the situation here by now, if that's what you mean. Or if you mean back home, she fully realises the situation there too. ... Why are you asking?

Because I want to help her. She doesn't need to suffer through any of this either, so that's why I want to help her realize that she can choose her own path instead of following her master around.

... Kamijou-san, you have to promise me to take one piece of advice from me, even if it's just this time and you can just continue your brick wall mindset antics after that.
