[ Ange never really feels the need to broadcast anything over the journals, as anti-social as she is and all. But today she's perhaps feeling a bit more bored or a bit more annoyed than usual, probably because of some recent arrivals. So she has actually taken the effort to speak up for once now, her voice as flat and deadpan as it always is. ]
So, people here.. how much longer are you planning on wasting your time here? Don't get me wrong, it's not like I have found any way out either, but I doubt spending our time here with parties and all sorts of similar ridiculous things is going to help us in any way. Don't tell me all of you have grown so used to this place that you're just complacent with the situation as it is now.
[ Sorry, Luceti, she's a bit of a party pooper indeed. What is having fun. ]
I definitely have no plans of sticking around here if I'd be given the choice. I have better things to do than wasting my time around here.. unlike some other people, apparently. [ a very slight sigh. ]
So I guess in the end it comes down to this.. do any of you honestly want to stick around in this bothersome place and party your days away? I suppose I'm actually a little genuinely curious.
[ It looks like she's going to cut it off right there and then, but she seems to think of something as she starts a filter instead. ]
[ locked away from

investigatings ]
On a different note.. if anyone has advice for avoiding certain people, I'd like to hear it.
[ A bitter edge creeps into her tone as she speaks on. ] This place has a rather crude sense of humor as to who gets to arrive or leave here.

...The other problem we run into is not everyone's suited to the pursuit of getting out of here. We have a lot of people with brute force, but they can't break the barrier even after throwing everything at it. So all people like us can do is keep honing our fighting edge for when we're needed. It's why I train as much as I do.
And the people with brains have been wracking them trying to find out how to disable the tech or understand Shifts.
Trust me, I've known people who combed the library looking for anything they could find and they just turned up empty handed. Our situation isn't due to sloth, it's just that we're stuck with virtually nothing to work with at all. We've had some absolutely brilliant minds in Luceti, and none of them have been able to crack the egg, despite their best efforts.
The only option we've really had is waiting it out and trying to make use of opportunities when they happen. It may look like the people here have given up... but trust me. They haven't.
[Voice]
Saying something like that.. that's almost like giving up, isn't it? Can you completely accept the fact that there's nothing at all to work with in this place? Perhaps people just haven't looked hard enough, or it's something that's hidden and only comes out at certain times.. Either way, it might be somewhat twisted logic, but it suits a twisted place like this. You can't deny the existence of a random clue on how to get out of here somewhere being around here - they also call that sort of reasoning Devil's Proof.
Either way, as long as there is any sort of hope like that, I'd rather work towards getting anything at all done in this place rather than just sitting around and having parties like everyone else. I have all reason to go home, and all reason to not stay here, so accepting the situation as-is and just waiting like you say isn't even an option for me to start with.
[Voice]
[And he shakes his head, though his voice is... surprisingly gentle while still being firm.]
It's not quite giving up. There are still people looking for answers in anything they can find. And I'm not saying there's no hope, or no chance to start with. By all means... look. You might find something we missed.
But even the people who go and party need time to wind down, relax, and recharge for this sort of affair. Not everyone has the kind of fortitude to hunt for answers every waking hour. Even the strongest and smartest need to rest sometimes.
Because they need to be in their top form when that one break in the puzzle comes. When it does... we'll all be ready to move to the next step.
[Voice]
Well, I can't say your reasoning is exactly faulty, it's probably just not the kind of mindset I could understand. More than anything I just want to get out of this place, so I see no use in hanging around longer by wasting my time more and more. Doing something else wouldn't be winding down or anything at all, it would just be such a waste of time that it would only stress me out more.
[Voice]
[He smiles a bit. He's one of those ridiculous hero types. Shamelessly.]
Sounds like you really thrive on pressure.
[Voice]
I wouldn't really call it pressure, it's more being heavily goal-oriented. When I have something in mind that I want to reach, I can't give up until I get it. That's all there is to say about it.
