[ There are a few slight moments of silence - perhaps, if you listen closely enough, you can hear some slight sounds of nature from the forest's edge in the background - before a girl speaks up with a quite deadpan (and calm, considering the situation) tone. ]
Am I being reduced to this again this soon already? I really must be popular with all of you witches. So, which one of you do I have the honor of dealing with this time? Bernkastel again, or even that Featherine witch? ... Either way, you can come out and start laughing now. If you're looking for your cue, this is it.
[ She pauses for a moment, as if she actually does expect someone to pop up. But when it doesn't happen, she just continues talking. ]
It's pretty inconsiderate to let someone waiting after dragging them in, you know. Although I guess I should expect as much from the lot of you.
And what's up with these wings? 'Sure, let's give her pink wings this time just to see the look on her face, ahahaha' or whatever, right? I'm not laughing, but surely you predicted as much.
... Any normal person would start to think I'm going insane by now, like I'm talking to myself. Ah.. it's useless, it's all useless. Does anyone who's not me feel like speaking up already?

[ Deadpan as ever. ]
[Voice]
Anyway, the name's Adell. Has anyone else managed to fill you in yet?
[Voice]
I'm Ange. And I think I've gotten the general gist so far. Captures here by some Malnosso or whatever, can't leave, can't damage these wings or we'll die.

[Voice]
Considering you don't have to pay for anything, it's really easy. All else fails, you grab an apartment and live there. I lived in the apartments for several months, they're actually pretty nice.
[Voice]
For how many people are these houses and apartments suited? [ Living with Battler actually doesn't sound bad at all.. ]
[Voice]
Well, clearly our captors don't want us dead. They could've killed us all by now if they wanted to. And obviously we're worth the trouble of keeping us alive and in good health.
[Voice]
Still, they could have provided us with less favorable living circumstances if they didn't care about us apart from keeping us reasonably alive.
[Voice]
But it should be noted, the barrier doesn't just keep stuff in, it keeps stuff out. So apparently they view us as worth protecting too. Doesn't stop them from getting our help in fighting the war they've got going on out there.
[Voice]
[Voice]
But what's going on out there is that there's group of fanatics called the Third Party who are hellbent on wiping out all life on the world. The Malnosso directly oppose them. Considering the Third Party doesn't care who they kill, they drag everyone into it. Unfortunately, by not helping the Malnosso in their fight, we'd more than likely doom ourselves as well.
Besides, there's plenty of innocent people out there not affiliated with the Malnosso who are targets of the Third Party as well. Inaction means they'd pay the price too.
[Voice]
So now we're practically being forced to fight, since it's either fight or get killed, huh? By dragging all of us in here they've ensured that for the sake of our own survival we'll have to work for their goals.
[Voice]
Pretty much. I never said we were in a good position here. It could be worse. It can always be worse. But it isn't good either.
[Voice]
... Although even in that case people would argue that's yet better. [ It's not as if she particularly cares for life anymore either, after all. ]
[Voice]
[Confidence. He has it. Perhaps a foolish amount, but it's carried him through a lot of hell like any good shounen sort of guy.]
[Voice]
Sometimes when you don't have any goal or possibility to make things right anymore, you probably realise it's for the best to just give up. That being said, there's still one thing left I have to do too, so I have no intention of dying either.
[Voice]
Well, not having a goal means you probably already won. And there's always something new around the corner waiting!
But I like the sense of resolve you have.
[Voice]
[Voice]
[A genuinely good idealist idiot hero. Better get used to them Ange, they're all over the place.]
Yeah, life may be short if you look in the cosmic picture. But it's still worth protecting, fighting for, and enjoying.
[He shakes his head a bit.]
Not sure how we got into philosophy so quickly, but that's what I think on the matter.
[Voice]
[ A tiny sigh. How does one deal with idealistic idiot heroes.. ]
Some circumstances just can't be helped or improved. I thought for a while that relying on outside help might be the solution, but that's no different at all. That's exactly the thing that stabs you in the back the moment you put your guard down.
I just can't find myself agreeing with such idealistic ideas.
[Voice]
Not surprised about disagreeing, though. I got a lot of that back home.
[Voice]
[ This is the result of a streak of bad experiences, honestly. ]
... Geez, I wonder why.
[Voice]
But keep an open mind. You might one day be pleasantly surprised.
[Most certainly bad experiences, and Adell's had his fair share of them as well, but...
He actually smirks a bit at her sarcasm.]
It's worked well for me so far.
[Voice]
... I'm willing to compromise though and say that I'll believe you that some people here might be fairly decent for now.
